Hello Summertime Fans,

Well here we are again... Today is the last Sunday of the 2008 Summer Crying Boy it went by FAST! w00t Doesn't feel like we even had one this year. I hope 2009 will be better for all of us.

What did you do this summer?

Hello Don,

I was born in Halifax and now live in Alberta. It was -4C last night. Woke up to frost on everything.

I spent a month this summer in Palm Springs at a condo I rented. It was hot but I started to almost get used to it. Those summer nights were amazing. The hot wind and and the mountains in the distance.

They had an earthquake while we were there, but we were driving on the I-10 at the time , so we didn't feel it. I wish I could have felt it, of course as long as it wasn't "the big one". We have tornados in Alberta.

The people who live in Palm Springs are lucky. I hope they realize that.

Oh starting Friday night the 3rd of October the chilly evening weather of the desert began arriving into this the Sonoran Desert Coachella Valley region of California.

The water in the pool only weeks ago was warmed during the day and stayed warm through the evnings has once again began to dip to being too cold to go into during the days and nights both.

The true signal that it is not only officially fall since September 23rd but that it now feels like fall here in the valley.

August in California

Remember like Logic would let you forget August is my favorite month so this means we must once again begin the countdown to the first day of summer June 21st as well the longest day of the year. Hehe

Hello UK,

We might be in official Fall time, but here in Palm Springs we are having our Indian Summer. This weekend it will be in the upper 80s-Lower 90's Cool I should be a fantastic sunny, warm, & very busy weekend here in the desert with the Motorcycle & Hot Rod Rally Exclamation Mark

Ok not to Don but it is so cold in the Coachella Valley.

I know Don you are going to laugh but this is the first day Logic is needing a sweater and though we Catnip and Logic wear shorts 365 days a year we get cold from here on through the visitor season that does not even start until January 15th officially.

We now long for April 15th as time passes and returns to us the great days of summer here in the Sonoran Desert region of California Don.

See when you look at the daily high for the valley here Desert Weather High you can see yes it was 72.7 but only for a while (few hours a day) as seen here Don Desert Weather Hourly Report anyways we know you and you are not going to feel sorry for us because you are under snow where you are located (we think soon).

Ok home to install the heating blanket an annual event that we do for October through March the burrrrrr season for Logic and Catnip.

Logic...odd as it may sound, I can relate to your reaction to the cool temperatures down there. When we were down 2 years ago, we had the usual daytime temperatures in the high 80's and low 90's for pretty much the entire three weeks we spent there. The day we had to leave, we drove into LA to catch our flight back to the Great White North. We had to return the rental car to an off-airport location, then hang around waiting for a shuttle bus to take us to LAX. The temperature was around 70 F, and I want you to know that I darned near froze waiting for that bus (and me supposed to be conditioned to our 'summertime' temperatures like that)! As Carolee will confirm, I had to dig my heavy jacket out of the suitcase, and my teeth were still actually chattering - man, but that was weird. Crazy

At least in your case, these cool temperatures are only temporary - up here they are a portend of things to come - and man, what comes after just ain't pretty!!!

Anyway, have a great one - at least we have the cams to remind us of what we are missing. And speaking of cams, any word on the Heusso gallery cams - man but I really miss them!
