Welcome to the truth on weather.

The Coachella Valley is located in the Sonoran Desert below sea level and just a little abovearound 500 feet in some western ends of the valley making this the lower desert of California.

We are reminded of the fact that we live or visit a California Desert when the weather turns in just a few minutes it can and does go from calm warm air to high gust winds and the dark clouds are moving in as the rain started in the west end of the valley lightly at just after 5:00 AM today.

It is on and off rain here in Palm Springs and across the valley into Indio at the eastern end of the Coachella Valley.

We still love it here even though you never know which way the wind is going to blow.

One really cool effect about the clouds and the rain is you will see rainbows and the clouds will be 10 to 15 miles away but the wind will blow the rain all of the way into the Coachella Valley it is really something to see as the sun is shining and the skies are blue above the valley floor.

Thanksgiving Day Weather is turning out to be all you can grow to respect when you live in the California Desert.

We will be enjoying 72 to 76 degree clear blue skies in the Coachella Valley as the rain has cleared and our table is being set as we write this at one of the finest Palm Springs area restaurants just for our special day in the Coachella Valley.

It is the desert and we are surrounded by tall steep mountains so the weather can and does change as Logic has written a lot about.

The weather took the entire night and into Thursday Thanksgiving Day the morning of to begin to clear and expect 72 to 76 degree clear blue skies today our outdoor dining event is on the covered veranda.

Have a happy family feels Thanksgiving Day and weekend our friends.

Logic and Catnip prepare for rain as the clouds are showing and the winds begin to look as though they are not going to back down as they bring or push the rain into the Coachella Valley.

We think we are going to receive up to 1.00 Inch of rain from Palm Springs through to the city of Coachella just down by Indio.

While a little late about 24 hours the rain began to fall this morning with no wind to come along with it.

This rain should clear through the Coachella Valley in 24 hours or less with the chance of rain lowering by the hour.

Raining in Palm Springs... Today it hit 49 today, a little chilly for those who live in the Coachella Valley... Here in Yakima, "The Palm Springs of Washington" we are at 16 & about -2 with the lite wind we have outside!!! Stay warm tonight LOGIC BigGrin

Snow falls all over the mountain ranges of the Coachella Valley as the sun rises this morning the white snow on these mountains would have you thinking that this is not a Sonoran Desert location.

It is the California Desert and WOW as a reminder the desert goes from one extreme to another.

The snow looks to be at 3500/4000 foot level maybe lower. Cool

The valley floor 45 miles in length and 15 miles in width this valley is surrounded by tall mountains that get temperatures up to 121 degrees in July and as cold as freezing in January.

Ok rain began falling at 11:30 PM Tuesday evening and has continued through this morning and will rain into the evening but there is no rain forecasted for Thursday.

However at this time rain may return for the coming week for the Coachella Valley do not panic this can change and rain may not fall on the California Lower Desert region of the Sonoran Desert.

Damn, it's COLD! It was 35 at work this afternoon, and only one degree higher when I left this evening...plus, the wind blew hard all day and it rained & rained. I prayed the snow would come down this low, but, no luck...!!
