My son works for the wind turbines so he showed us where he works. Maine is slowly starting to impose wind farms, but a lot of local people are against it because of the scenery here.
I LOVE Maine! When I was young we vacationed there! I lived in NY so going to Main and "slowing down" there was rally fun! We had a little boat and we would wake up early in the morning to go fishing. My mom would take the paper off the tie from a loaf of bread, bend it to look like a hook and tie a string to it. My brother (8 years older than me) would take me out in the boat and I would drop my line over the side and watch the little fishies eat the piece of hot dog off.
What great memories!
If you have any photos of your visit here we would love to see them!
Sounds like you had a great time Next time you will have to head up to the Tramway...good trials to go hiking. I to love the Living Desert. It is a cool place...as we in our family love animals. As for Resturants...you can ask anyone on this site...there is no one who loves food more then me...except maybe Catnip... You said your son works at the wind farms.... I spent some time out there in the early 90's...on loan from the Dept. of Energy from a windmill program here in Goldendale, Washington. I use to work with the big boy windmills. The Mod-2...the blade alone from tip to tip was 100 yards. I do other things now...but just wanted to share that with you.
Come back to the desert soon!!! Maybe next October 2008 for our 3rd Annual PS Forum Dinner... Keep your eyes open for that
