Growing up in Palm Springs as a kid, I can remember the summer time thunder storms in the valley. San Jacinto is one of the main reasons Palm Springs has such nice weather. It keeps the storms away from PS. Now if a thunderhead is big enough, then it will creep right over the top of the Tramway, and set right on top of PS... Then you have high temps & and tons of humidity.
But don't worry, we still have plenty of summer left to go Enjoy the rest of your week
