I have to say that they do a very good job in the Palm Springs area to keep the brush fires down.  But when there are fires in the LA area, the Santa Ana winds push the smoke towards Palm Springs.  When it is HOT & DRY, the Santa Ana's can really wreak havoc on the fire fighters, and fighting the fires. 

So, DO NOT throw the cigarettes out the window, put the camp fires out, use spark arresters on your dirt bikes,  be safe with the fireworks, and keep the kids out of the matches...
