Summer 2008 is here
It should be a very nice & hot summer in the Coachella Valley. I predict plenty of 100+ temp. days.
Enjoy the season...
You read a newspaper & the internet, watch TV, or listen to the radio(not everybody talking), but the drive-by media & Algore make it sound like we are all doomed! Record Tempatures...over 100 degree's outside. They act like it is a new thing...like it never happened. It is called SUMMER And when it is really cold it is called WINTER... Been happening for a long time. As for 100's in PS, that is a natural event...in fact we count on it.
Enjoy your summer...it is my favorite time of the year. Christmas is too, but spending it in PS at a nice temp of 75 on Christmas Day is nice too...especially when it is 1 degree here in Yakima.
Well it is still summer time & the heat continues. I have to agree with LOGIC that when you add high humidity to heat, that just makes the heat worst then ever. Some of our forum members can attest to that. Right now PS is getting those thunderstorms, usually you wouldn't see those until late August, early September, but that storm system off the coast of Mexico threw a monkey wrench in for that. I remember the humidity back east & down south in the summer time when I was in the Army. Go outside all showered & clean uniform...15 minutes later, on a warm & humid summer day...drenched with sweat... Plus it just zaps all of your energy up. Even as a young kid in PS, I remember one time running to the store for my Mom, Mt. Jancinto all the way to the desert floor was covered in clouds, it was about 110 outside, 90+% humidity, and I can still feel how tired I was just running, plus you could feel the air as you were breathing... But like the humidity, that will always stick out in my memories...like it was yesterday...and that was back in 1981.
Best remedy, take a break in the shade, drink plenty of cool water, eat lite, try to stay cool, & enjoy the heat...
Just remember, this is summer time, it is going to get hotter, before it gets cooler...then it will be Fall & Winter...and then it starts all over again
